FAQ's

BOTOX COSMETIC®

Will my face still show emotions and expressions?

BOTOX Cosmetic® is intended to enhance your look, not change it – you can still smile, frown and be expressive. BOTOX Cosmetic® will not give you a fake frozen look if you are treated by an experienced nurse or doctor who will be able to determine the right dose and injection technique for you. The treatment only relaxes the muscle beneath the frown line at the injection site, so the other elements of facial expression remain active.

When will I see results and how long will they last?

The effect appears in 2-4 days and can last up to 3-4 months, after which time another treatment is required. After several treatments, the effects may begin to last longer.

What is the treatment like?

A BOTOX Cosmetic® treatment is quick and simple, with no downtime. After meeting with Dr. Sinclair to determine your desired outcome, the procedure itself takes only 10-15 minutes. A tiny amount of BOTOX Cosmetic® is injected, very precisely, into the muscles being treated. Because the needle is so fine and only a small amount of liquid is used, the pain associated with the injections is minimal. Most patients compare the sensation to a bug bite. It also has no effect on the sensory nerves, so you will have normal feeling in the treated areas.

What are the side effects?

The side effects can be pain, tenderness and bruising at the site of injection. Occasional temporary numbness of the forehead, flu-like symptoms or headache may also occur.

How much does a treatment cost?

The price depends on the amount of BOTOX Cosmetic® needed and the areas of the face being treated. Our office charges per unit.
